My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Isn't is just amazing how you see something different no matter how many times you visit the same place. This is wonderful Tara and exactly the kind of detail that I would expect you to see and turn into lovely art. Well done girlfriend!

From the healthy, living skyline in background to the old and decaying in the foreground. A story in an image... Clive

Really cool image and capture, my Friend! I love that dry, almost sweletering feel to this.... perhaps its also intensified by my longing for a little less snow and some warmth :) I also like your title very much to this... the emptiness; that gap in the core, is almost as though heartless.. excellent interpretation and image!

It is the warm, contrasting colors that do it for me...I am still learning to fully appreciate and really see abstract composition...:) Title is perfect.

Great title for this excellent abstract capture.

I agree with the previous comments. Its a wonderful abstract image. Knowing what it is however, it has a somewhat forelorn feel to it.

I love the fact that a part of me (the odd part) really groves on the alien landscape aspect of this image. That hollowed out heartwood bit is most definitely the mouth of a strange sort of cave, leading...well...inward. As an abstract this is such a perfect play of textures and colors, light and shadows, and it allows the imagination to wander into some interesting conceptual neighborhoods. I really like it when art does that and this does it marvelously!

Yes,may be "heartless" but not without soul...Excellent photo Tara!

So many great details about this foto, I don't know just what I like best--I guess I just like it all!!

I love the varying textures in this, and the contrasts in color/tone from the dark round piece we see end-on against the brighter log seen on it's side. Really great shot!

Randy and I know about heartwood and your right it's heartless...nice photo
