Description
Now that I have your attention.
Over the years the Sherman Gardens have grown to over two acres in size. There are botanical collections from all over the world ranging from desert to the tropics. There is an herb garden as well as a Japanese garden. The Tropical Conservatory is climate controlled to mirror the heat and humidity in that part of the world.
As my stepmother and I entered the conservatory the first flower that caught my eye were these Phalaenopsis cultivar also known as the Phalaenopsis Moth Orchid. I made some rude comment about their resemblance to a part of the female reproductive system and how provocative nature could be. My stepmother told me I was just seeing things and to knock it off.
Steps away we encountered this Anthurium crassinervium from tropical rain forests of Central and South America. It is known to the local people as Zango Tempo. I pointed this out to my stepmother and said, "Are you sure I'm seeing things?" All she could do was laugh.

My first large (20X16) B/W pic of an orchid at my cammera club was actually dribbled on by some of the old boy members, they had NO idea what it actually was! Luckily slobber washes off.

Oh yes ... flowers are ALL about sex! They're the sex organs of the plant, and their entire purpose is reproduction. Is it any wonder that the ones that do SO well in cultivation look similar to ours? :D Gorgeous photographs, and a great story!
