Description
Welcome Once Again to all my friends/regulars and those stopping by for the 1st time...
Well this time around I was contemplating not posting this image I created simply because of the disturbing nature but it turned out so much better than I thought it would that I didn't want to just tuck it away in a folder to collect dust..It really doesn't need a story behind it as it speaks volumes on it's own.Basically we all live in a world that in the back of our minds we as human beings hope and pray that this scenario never plays out in ones life time.
So when this completed it's render time and I began to absorb and take it all in I was wondering what a fitting title might be and after just a few seconds(considering that's all you have if you have the misfortunes of actually seeing this happen before you)and that was ...."Final Thoughts"..
I'll leave it up to all of you to decide if you want to comment or not...I'll understand if you chose not too...Like I said...I only posted this because I thought it turned out far better than I expected it to and really wanted you folks to see it for it's artistic value....hope I don't offend anyone...was not my intentions to do so....
"Just a quick note"
We have silo's within striking distance from where we live as well as a visible nuclear power plant....so I've raised my boys with them knowing if it was ever going to happen we'd go quick....Hopefully......(smile)...
Created in Bryce 7 with post work as always in Adobe Elements 8...

Fantastic atmosphere. Great scene!!

~Given their postures, your characters in the scene seem to be taking it rather calmly. But then what else could you do? A very thought provoking scene. My final thoughts...for all those I love.~

Whatever catastrophe it is going to depict it still is a very beautiful image!

Very good composition.

Fantastic lighting 'n' details. It brings to mind my youth when people started building shelters. It was a generation of people that were all too aware of this possibility. Excellent work! (:

Excellently done scene! A warning....

Very powerful image! Excellent work. By the time you see that flash there really is not a thing to do but say goodbye if you can. It is a good reminder of the stupidity of the human race. To hate other cultures so intensely they invent a weapon knowing they will not only kill their enemy but also every living organism on the earth.

KW: HELLO! .... As an OLD man (compared to your 48 years?), this soon to be '60' year old geezer grew up during the COLD WAR days .... Believe it or not, as school children, we had 'drills' .... Grab one of your BOOKS, go out into the 'hallway', HOLD it over your head, and you're GOOD TO GO when the ATOM BOMB HITS? .... DUMB T.P. has long thought MOST peeps won't NUKE each other cuz' of M.A.D./Mutual Assured Destruction of one another .... However, there are a FEW out there who MIGHT? .... Be that as it may .... T.P. has no kids of his own, but does have nieces and nephews .... He tells them they're FAR more apt to DIE of the FLU, a CAR CRASH, being POOR, eating FOOD that's NOT safe, drinking WATER that's NOT clean, breathing AIR that's DIRTY and POLLUTED and from being 'married'. WINK? (Now, go ENJOY YOUR WISCONSIN college men's BASKETBALLERS! .... They just beat THE OHIO STATE last weekend and looked GOOD!). SMILES. My BEST to you and yours, KIND SOUL .... T.P./Brian.

Quote from TallPockets...but add 6 years, which I echo...KW: HELLO! .... As an OLD man (compared to your 48 years?), this soon to be '60' year old geezer grew up during the COLD WAR days .... Believe it or not, as school children, we had 'drills' .... Grab one of your BOOKS, go out into the 'hallway', HOLD it over your head, and you're GOOD TO GO when the ATOM BOMB HITS? ....
