Description

This is the business end of a Barrel Cactus. Don't you just want to give it a big hug? This one is for Andrea (durleybeachbum). Andrea, perhaps you could have these planted as a border around your property. They would keep the foxes and wankers out.

Terrific close-up, Mark! There is probably some stupid health and safety law covering such a perimeter..somebody who climbed a 2 metre fence into a kennel run with Rotweilers loose in there sued for damage sustained during his trespass! We are not allowed to put barbed wire along the top of fences in case a burglar hurts himself!

I've got 4 fishhook barrel cacti in my front yard along with several other types of cacti. When I lived in my last house, my neighbors had a large dog that loved my yard more than his own and he wasn't very friendly. I made a large hedge of beavertail cacti that ran the length of the side of the yard. They didn't like it much and a week later, every single cacti had been pulled up in the night with no sign of them anywhere. I was on fire until 2 days later, I saw a worker putting up a new 4 foot wooden fence where the cacti has stood. :-) Super macro, Mark!

A natural weapon. Such clarity and sharpness so close up. They also make a fine lint brush, I see. Probably wouldn't want to use it on your fine silks though. A fine shot!!
