Description

Carnival cruise ships Destiny and Miracle, docked at Grand Turk Island in the Caribbean. The Carnival Destiny is 8 years older that the Miracle. We were on the Miracle. Grand Turk Island is an island in the Turks and Caicos Island chain. It is the largest island in the Turks Islands (the smaller of the two archipelagos that make up the island nation) with 6.9 square miles (18 km2). It contains the territory's capital, Cockburn Town. The island is the administrative, historic, cultural and financial centre of the territory, and has the second largest population of the islands at approximately 3,720 people. Info from Wikipedia. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Great shot. I've never been lucky enough to sail on anything larger than ferries and the like. It must be so much fun!

The sheer size of these ships is mind-boggling. Seeing the two together is like seeing a couple of cities at dock! Well captured!

Great capture of these two giants Dana. They look especially large when walking on the dock between them. One can see the newer design in the right one. Great information about this island nation!
