Description

Parallel universe from the archives, part four... This was my initial take on "Discovering beauty". While I like the context - the dunes, the grasses, the alien sky - I always thought the moon looked a little artificial, and the POV in the image I posted originally was much stronger. However, I still enjoy this version, and after experimenting with different crops (to take out the moon) and post-processing filters, I decided to show the original unfiltered image, for what it's worth... I like the lighting in this version very much. The moon doesn't look fake, just BIG! Perhaps she's found beauty at the last minute ... (But perhaps that's just my Earth-centric viewpoint.) Nicely done!

LOL - I know that feeling of trying to improve a render with crops and filters etc and then deciding to go with the original render after all! Good to know I'm not the only one who experiences this. A beautiful and evocative scene - nice work Craig!

Its one of our better human attributes that we are intrigued by trying to imaging how foreigners, and non-human minds (eg. animals; aliens) might view /think about everyday things from our worlds/lives. Your picture captures this concept beautifully!

Very nice work...perhaps the moon is just a little too bright and fights for your attention,a slightly softer moon would transfer attention to the figure instead(just my two cents worth!)...very well posed and I like the colour palette!

Really fabulously done! I love the sense of frailty that permeates this image. Everything is nicely balanced, nicely shiny, and just flat out nice. Great stuff. I rather like the moon where/as it is as it seems to provide a counterbalance to the character. The sky is amazing, and the background landscape is stunning. Yeah, I like this.

Yes, I remember this original very well. A very sensitive and beautiful scene. I rather like the moon, I don't think is looks too artificial at all, with the water is fits beautifully. Well done!!!
