Description

I believe this is a Female Brown Headed Cowbird caught her as she was coming in for a landing. Just another shot form the backyard bird watch, the blackbirds have just about taken over the feeders this year keeping the song birds away. I’ve worked for over a month to run them off with some success but not complete success, and it doesn’t take many of these aggressive birds to run the desired birds off. I’ve used feed they don’t like feeders they have trouble getting on and noise, the only thing that’s lift is take down the feeders, not ready to do that yet but I’m close. As much as I don’t like them I have to give credit where credit is due they are smart and adapt very well to the conditions. Ok it’s time to go back out and make some noise! Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you care to leave! Thanks for the favs on my last post!

I love the way you've captured the delicate wings. Suggestion: toss cheap feed on the ground, such as the cracked corn you'd feed a chicken and leave the millet for the song birds. My experience is birds are like humans, they are lazy. If you do not make them work for it, they won't. Feed the black birds in a different area. I ran a business and had to do this with my brother. I paid him to stay away.

Very cool capture - good luck - that's like keeping scrub jays away - not a chance

Fantastic shot. It could be a cowbird but their feathers are usually tight and have a shine the males have a black head. The bad thing about having any let alone many is that they steal songbird nests and will even throw their eggs out.
