Description

A few years ago the San Diego Zoo did a major renuvation on its elephant enclosure adding much more space for the herd, and better viewing for visitors and added some educational natural history features including a fake tar pit and fossil walls. This fellow greets visitors at the entrance to the enclosures Enjoy.

Elephants (mammoths too) are my favorite critters. Dogs don't count, they are people too. Great shot love the POV with the tusks!

Look at the ivories of this gentleman! WOW! Impressive! This is a gorgeous shot and its a wonderful glimpse into prehistory. Even as a display object, this guy captures what his real-world prehistoric counterparts must have been. Impressive. Graceful. Endlessly fascinating. This is really great work.

Well done. How did I miss this? Impressive...imagine how impressed a 5-6 year old must be. Reminds me of how I felt when I saw my first whale skeleton suspended from the ceiling of the Natural History Museum in New York City (many moons ago).
