Description

Just an old picture taken in June 2010. Lava is still coming down the Pali (hills) but no homes are in immediate danger at this time. But everyone is still on alert as long as lava is present. Here is an old news clip that happen sometimes in July 2005. Hiker "Dewey Gaedcke" got lost in the lava fields. Aloha and thank you for viewing

I love that look as the lava flows into the ocean, the steam rising. You know, when I was a college kid back in Michigan they taught us that there is a lore of bad luck if you remove pumice stones from the Islands where they are home. Something about the spirits.... I believe. Great capture and a lot of wonderful work you have done for us, bringing us these amazing shots of the lava flows.

I'm very suspicious of Dewey. How can some one get lost on an lava ocean entry hike and end up in the 1900ft elevation area?

I am suspicious too... being from Houston, he doesn't have the right accent. I think he's one of those Yankees that recently moved down there.Great shot and great news clip.

Ah, the conjunction of fire and water...fantastic shot! Next, I would like to see fire and ice, but I don't think that's going to happen where you are, ha ha!
