Yes, there are some. Most of us in fact. My friends are ok. Initial Adrenaline energy has gone, leaving what can best be described as battle fatigued and numb. At last house to house assessments have started. Impossible to inspect them all, but they must... Some people have no phones, no electricity, no mobiles for contact, no water, no sanitation, no food. and no cars. Terrible situations. I believe there will be more than the authorities imagine. In some respects the authorities have been hijacked by people doing things as they see the need. I'll try to write about these next time I post. But I must mention two: The student volunteer army, 15000 strong are shovelling silt out of people's homes. The Christhurch volunteers are resiurced (food, etc) by another volunteer army of Dunedin students who have roped in some helicopters to send in lunches and other necessary supplies. Their last request was for more wheelbarrows. And the Farmy army who are doing more or less that same thing in other residential areas. We have 50 000 homes without water or sanitation, 35 000 without power. It's so huge.
