Description

I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by; And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking, And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking. I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied; All I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the seagulls crying. I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life, To the gull's way and the whale's way, where the wind's like a whetted knife; And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover, And a quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trip's over. Sea Fever John Masefield (c) 1913 ~~~~ This morning at about 11 AM PST my Uncle Angelo passed away. He had been long suffering from the merciless ravages of Alzheimer's Disease and his health had been in a slow, steady decline. It was with his guidance that I found what would become an ardent love of fishing. I still remember the first time that I went out with he and my Dad...deep sea fishing out of San Fransisco Harbor for Salmon...and subsequently freezing my butt off on those damned party boats. But still enjoying fishing. I remember how he loved classic cars and restoring them. He was a wonderful man, a beloved uncle and he will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace, Uncle Angelo ~~~~ Photo (c) 2011 Twilight Productions

he will live forever as long as you hold him dearly in your heart and memories. he has given you the gift of fishing which you will enjoy forever.... the next time you feel the bite, the next time you hear the line scream off the reel, the ratchet whirring singing that wonderful song, he will be there telling you to take your time, the keep the line taught and then to share rush of finally landing the fish. Let your next one be free and dedicate it to your Uncle...that lucky fish will tell the others that you are a good person. cheers my friend Carl

A lovely tribute and as others have said he gave you the gifts of fishing and probably so much more. I recall after my dad died, hearing one of his favorite songs and singing along knowing he gave to me my deep love of music. It is this that creates a legacy and how those who leave us always remain by our sides hugs

What wonderful things he left you to remember him by! His body died, but he forever in your heart, and in the Summerlands, smile. In my heart, I feel he is smiling, and saying to you "Well done" as he gazes at the image you've posted in remembrance, and reads the words you chose for him.
