Description
Mishu was our First Dog, born January 19, 1980 and died April 26, 1996. He was Old English Sheepdog and German Shepherd on his Mother's side, and Large Hairy Dog on his Father's side. We knew the Mother, she was sweet, and didn't really look much like a OE Sheepdog or a German Shepherd, but that's what they said she was. The Father was most definitely a Large Hairy Dog, and a very handsome one at that. Mishu was a Large Hairy Dog also, but I used to give him haircuts in the summer. So this is my summer dog. In the winter I let his hair grow, and he was unmistakably a Large Hairy Dog. In fact, you might wonder if there was a dog under all that hair!
Mishu was the best, most awesome dog ever born. He taught all his tricks to Gracie Anne before he died. I never thought there could be another dog as awesome as Mishu, but he did the most excellent job in passing all his knowledge to Gracie Anne, because she sure was as awesome as Mishu.
They just don't live long enough, and when they go, they take a part of you with them. But they leave a part of themselves with us.
Thank you everyone for stopping to see the last post, for leaving such wonderful comments of concern and caring for the people of New Zealand and for Nancy.

Forgot to mention that this was a photo, I played with it a bit in Fotosketcher and in PSP X2. Fotosketcher is a free program .. you'll have to google it for the download.

He looks like a loveable dog... on my monitor, he has a purple shade to him... did ya dye his hair too? LOL... funny How dogs seem to always be there for 13 years and then poof, their gone... 13 years is a long time, but my puppy is already a year old - his date is easy to remember... Jan 2, at midnight, 2010... He missed only 24 hours of last year, and even though his name is Bouncer, Midnight is another name, so is little butt - lol

Oh, Rita, what a beautiful portrait. He's looks a wonderful dog, and yep they leave a part of themselves. Every speck of decency I have is thanks to the guidance and upbringing I had at the paws of my pets. This is such a remarkable photo...the pose, the foreground detail, and the distant bright area....it's a masterpiece. I hope you've got this one hanging on the wall...perfect candidate for a print on canvas. Really love the painting effect you did. Genuine BRAVA, Dear!!!

I love how you have made your photo of Mishu into this wonderful artwork with its super colouring and lighting. Mishu looks to have a mischievious look too and is ready for a game in his summer coat. How lovely to have this to look back on and think about the all the great times you had together and it is great that he passed his knowledge on to Gracie Anne. Yes they are such an important part of our lives and it is sad they don't live for ever. Thank you for thinking of me too. Hugs.
