Description
Whatever the ratio of support personnel to pilots, it is massive...yet the fly guys get all the glory and the thrills. If I was a mechanic, I'd always be wishing that I was one of the ones going up in the early morning light...and probably extremely relieved that I wasn't when only a fraction of the Schwarm came back at the end of the day.
Neiwil's fine Stuka backed up by some equally nice Ju-52's. Overalls, garrison caps, boots, ammo crates by PW, Bat, Core Arts, and Beyond VR.
In the back room of the CO's tent, the usual mix...Poser, Vue, and Photoshop.

Beautifully crafted historical image.

Brilliant mate, nice to see 'Tante Ju' getting a run out. Very valid point on wishing in the morning and glad in the evening.A lot took the option to get out of the mud of WWI, and promptly wished they hadn't.

well done, bubba! great light and action!

Again very good stuff... I like the look and pause feeling the crew shows. You get the feeling they are reflecting on who comes back and how well their birds perform, for the pilots. They know they did their very best and they know every nut and bolt was torqued and safety wired too specs...

Nice one again Bill - I agree with your sentiment!!

Beautifully done... Texts are really nice on this model and your handling of the background and the posing of the ground crew is spot on. As a kid I loved this plane authors bent wings and strange body. Often have thought about doing something and I think you have shown all of us. Just great!

A scene complete with human aspirations...nicely done...also like the early morning haze.

A thoroughly excellent piece of work. Atmosphere is all. The only problem is the usual one. The Poser figures never quite make it. I have to put a hell of a lot of work into mine to try to kill the Poser effect. If anyone wants to know what I am on about, just look at any war painting by someone like, say, Cuneo. Look at his figures and wonder why Poser can't quite crack it. That apart, one of the things I really liked about this picture is the use of J 52's as background, works well.
