She was born the child of an innocent who had been raped by a Pit Fiend summoned by Shang. As such, Shang had wanted her created as an abomination, a terror he alone would mold, train and raise side by side with his daughter. She was raised to worship within the Diabolic Church, but the only one she really worshipped was her own strength and abilities. She saw Shang as a tyrant, but a necessary one. Princess Aura, however, close to her own age and possessing many of the same abilities, became her lover, fast friend, welcomed mistress and leader. Along the way, she learned Aura’s fate, as seen by the Seer of Old Calladon, Aerrdinae. It was her fate to rise in power until she could supplant all the Lords of Hell and seize the underworld as her own domain, from which she would rule for eternity. Ghedryn thus swore herself to Aura’s side for all eternity, realizing that she would one day stand beside her as a Queen in Hell, First of the Nine.
