Princess Shangaura Tiamortius was born of a human woman, a slave concubine of Shang the Necromancer. Aura’s mother died in childbirth and for some unfathomable reason, Shang fell madly in love with his daughter, showering not only gifts and powers upon her, but mercy and understanding as well. Only rarely did Shang ever lose his temper with Aura and punish her. He and her wet nurses soon discovered, however, that physical punishment was useless against her, as she was brought to a gleeful climax by pain. Her inherent sadomasochistic talents soon became legend in Damia, and more than a few soldiers, devils and dragons were executed for making jest of her appetites. But she grew up and managed to control her powers and her desires, and became her father’s favorite pet. And though she knew his dark side better than anyone, and tasted his disregard for life on occasion, she loved her father,… as much as some black hearted monster like her could love anyone. And though she was powerful with magic, she never succumbed to the call of necromancy, preferring instead the path of the WarMage.

Following the Three Wars, after the forces of Damia defeated the Shadow Invasion of their lands, she was offered leadership of those lands by its previous Lord, Shang’s apprentice, Cyrus. Taking him as a lover, she secured his loyalty to her service and accepted. However, instead of assuming the title of Queen and ruling the undead lands from the fortress of Dracabolus, she left Cyrus in command and set out to find the lost secrets of her father. Some she found in the east, some buried in secret tombs here and there around the world, and the greatest by far, in the haunted chambers and halls of Old Calladon. The greatest secret she uncovered was Shang’s long term goal, his true plot, to take over not the world, but Hell itself. She found a way to communicate with his trapped soul, lost in the Void and discovered his great hatred for the rulers of Hell. She then swore her life’s work, to throw down all who ruled in Hell and assume the Throne of Dis as Empress in her father’s name.

Knowing that she would need loyal followers to lead her forces when the time came, she decided to forge a powerful group of villainous beings that could be raised to Godhood after she stole the powers of her grandfather, Asmodeus. Thus, she set her First, Lady Ghedryn, to the task of calling The Nine, each to be infused with the power of Hellfire itself. For Hellfire was something second nature to Aura, it streamed through her very veins. When that fateful future day comes, she will be ready to seize upon the very wellspring of Hellfire, the furnaces of Dis itself, and the raging fires of the plains of Avernus.
