Description
There is an old saying that "Every cloud has a silver lining." With the economic decline of the Samoa Peninsula the native plant life has made a spectacular comeback. You are advised to be cautious when taking close up pictures or you might lose an eye.

Cool capture, though it looks like thistle to me

What you've got there is a teasel! A fascinating plant, and an excellent capture. This bit of the plant used to be used in processing wool, mainly to comb the fibers and to raise the knap on finished fabric. You're right about putting your eye out ... these buggers are sharp!

They have established themselves in my garden and become a nuisance. The birds are supposed to eat the seeds, but they don't eat enough!
