I am an environmental scientist. A large part of my career has been dedicated to scientific research into the structure of ecosystems and factors that affect them. Quite early on, it became apparent that certain mathematical iterative principles formed geometries that coincided exactly with those found in natural ecosystems. And by ecosystems, I do not mean just plants and animals. The same principles also apply to quantum physics, geology, meteorology and on up to the formation of galaxies. These relationships were championed most publicly by the brilliant mathematician Benoît Mandelbrot, the founder of fractal geometry.
To my mind, the structure of natural ecosystems through application of these iterative processes revealed not only the genius and subtlety of nature but also its incomparable beauty. Â

Gorgeous render Stan. Flaming Warrior seems to be the perfect name for this flower. I have never been in a tropical rain forest but your description fits perfectly with what i have been told by others that have had that chance. It is amazing how different it is on the ground from up in the tree top canopies. There are many species of animals that live in those canopies and never come down to the ground throughout their entire life.

Beautiful piece, super work. Most don't know there is a difference from Jungle and Rain Forest just as there are differences between one Desert and another, much depends on Altitude. I've worked in the Proper Jungles of Ghana and Nigeria where it's a sparse Canopy and an abundance of Undergrowth where a Machete is a useful tool but I always found that particular blade more useful along the Coconut tree lined Beaches there for splitting fresh ripened Coconuts. The only true Rainforest I have ever been in is the one close to Mount Pelée volcano on the Island of Martinique and it is just as you described, a most stunning place. A subdued ambient light filled with flashes of most vivid colors, a dense atmosphere caused by the Canopy and vegitation muffling most sounds save for Birds and your own startled voice at what you were observing. Peace

Breathtaking, Stan. This could be the crystal ball where they predict the future with. Well, this is a superb flower bulb, and there is a great bright future growing out of this.

I love this beautiful flower you have created and how lovely it would look in the rotting tree stumps. I love the smell of honeysuckle so I can imagine what smell this has, so wonderful for the senses. We are lucky in our forests here we have nothing that will eat you or hurt you unless some thorns scratch so one can explore at ease. A super fractal flower.
