UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Really neat, Bill! Almost looks like a crazed ninja took some clams and used them as shuriken, sticking them into the wood!

Looks like your on a fungi roll Bill! ;D Excellent find and capture! Warning! Mushroom hunting can cause better observation powers. ;)

I love the coloured rings on these; just because they're common doesn't mean they're not worth loving! I'm glad we have such a variety of interesting fungi around here!
jocko500
lovely colors on them

I have something so similar right behind my house--they still look like shells to me!!

This is a very handsome bracket fungus, but you can't begin an ID without seeing the underneath. It is similar to several I've seen here, but the smell, the feel, and the species of tree are all helpful. BUT I think I have found the ID of your previous pic, Bill! 'Agarikon'..see a facinating article and pics here..http://blog.mycology.cornell.edu/?p=1130

They sure look like clams... Nice capture. Aloha

This is a really lovely image Bill. I am not an expert but these look like Fomes fomentarius. Tinder fungus so called because it burns easily and usually found on dead or dying beech.
awjay
very colorful

nature is so diverse.no wonder humans can be so talented with art with such beauty to copy

Although quite weird, really keen deep forest stuff in this shot, Bill. The fungi suggest sharp edged disks -- similar to those used in action movies -- flung against the stump.

Man, you're definitely having some fun with fungi, Bill! Wonderful colors in this shot! You must have a lot of nice fungi up there with all the moisture. This is great!
