Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Yeah very touching. People put them next to roads and train lines over here, and then the 'powers that be' come and take them away because they were erected without valid permits.....

Perhaps the sea took him. Well known surfer Sion Milosky died on Wednesday after an accident at Mavericks surf break, south of San Francisco. A sad image.

These are always incredibly touching and telling. There's really no way for me to know who this guy was, but the fact that the shrine remains is a firm indication that he mattered and matters to somebody! That's always a good thing. In a world where everything is instant and transitory, it's nice to see that emotional significance is something a bit more steady and stable. This is such a touching shot, delicately handled. It's very human and intriguing because of that!

Beautiful update on this shrine Marilyn. It is sad to see these along the highways. This one is nicely done with the photos. Dana
