Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

LOL @ evielouise...a party at the beach is just what's needed, especially at this time of year. And it's a perfect birthday dedication: it's not even my birthday and I feel all warm and mushy inside, just like I've just gotten a really cool gift, but then your photography does that! Especially when you're capturing stuff that you like. That's the secret to art, though, if the artist likes it then the audience will too! And WOW...what a dedication. I like this a whole heck of a lot! It rocks! Yeah, and you do this "golden light" thing incredibly well. Feel free to do as many of these kinds of shots as you'd like! And to top it all off, it's a birthday dedication to Mark...yeah...it's perfect all around. Great stuff.

I always look at your beach scenes, with and without comments. They are eyecatchers, especially when it is cold and dark here! a wonderful POV and a fine dedication!

well I hope you get this, lol, being in the remote regions of the wilderness, today, without electricity, light, phone or human contact, and surrounded by primeval forest and mountains before time. (Did I exaggerate? A little?) It's 5 and a half months later, and I'm finally getting to RR to thank you...Marilyn, in addition to being a beautiful wish for a very dark day, as my father had passed 3 days earlier, this was an amazing image. First, because of the golden-silver tones of the water; second, because of the complex pier structures, including that jutting pier in the background, seen almost like a "second" pier underneath the first one; third, because of the primal hue of the shot, like it's a few hours before Creation; and last, because of the lone person atop the pier---at the lookout station, it seems---peering over the ocean in contemplation. And then, it's a great body of water, and you know how much I love my Lake; so it was kind of a Pacific-bow to one of my great loves (Lake Michigan). But the tones, though beautiful, also have reflection and mourning in them, which is what that day was about for me. I truly appreciated it, along with all the other friendship you showed me in that time. And honestly, the sun splashing down the right side of the water just reminds me of dawn after dawn on Lake Michigan---like you asked the ocean to pay homage to my beloved lake (and it obliged). It's beautiful & perfect in so many ways. So even if you get this next week, you'll know I finally got here at last. Thank you so much for all the support you gave. It makes me feel that I really wasn't alone. Many, many thanks for a beautiful gift.
