Description

Walking along a busy downtown sidewalk recently, I happened to notice a small cluster of dandelion seeds lodged in a chain link fence. The typically brisk wind common to the concrete canyons of downtown San Diego, was riffling the seeds back and forth but was not dislodging them. I gently freed them from the fence and allowed the wind to carry them on their way. Millions of years of careful evolutionary engineering design, I thought, have exquisitely tailored these tiny packages of nascent life to spread their progeny far and wide, only to be foiled by the unforeseen advent of a burgeoning humanity. I do not, of course, have any quibble with a burgeoning humanity, of which I am a component part. And in the final analysis, the dandelions seem to be holding their own quite well in any event. Still, a helping hand now and then may aid in smoothing out some of the more grievous entries in my akashic record. Created in Ultra Fractal

Beautiful image Stan, and it truly resembles dandelion seeds. Will be a long time yet till we see our annual bumper crop of dandelions start to grow. We have neighbors that seem to take enjoyment in waging chemical warfare on these hardy little yellow flowers. Personally I much prefer to let them florish than contamiste the groundwater with poisons. If dandelions ever become valuable I will be able to retire. :) Have a great Sunday my friend.

Yes dandelions have their own beauty. I was taught as a youngster they were a troublesome weed,as they can take over a lawn. And some people take pride in their lawn work and gloat how green is more beautiful than yellow pesk. How-ever some of these folks enjoy dandelion wine!! I agree with Jim our bumper crop could become a great asset if the wine became more popular. Our crop is huge evey year and Jim seems to think that dandelions are a added beauty and should not be destroyed.

I love the mood of this... the faded blur of the outside rim and the stunning color of the center. it makes me think of a fine piece of jewelry; how neat would it be to have fine jewelry made with dandelions... or better yet, dandelions studded with jewels! no one would dump chemicals onto their lawn, then! :)

A very beautiful dandelion fractal with a very realistic look to it. A lovely delicate look to the inside too.
