My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

god, it is so strange & amazing to come back here now, over 5 months since Dad passed. I remember the amazing softness of the image, and how it looked like lanterns as much as flowers. Beacons...I had just finished writing an obituary for my father, trying to say a lifetime in a few paragraphs (god was that hard!!!), and I'd just finished paying that huge amount of money that newspapers charge for long obituaries, understanding the price but still feeling god, my father has just passed, and I have to give card-information to pay for this? I wanted to say, "can we do the money another day???" And in the cloud, I came here, some hours after you'd posted this, the temps outside in the 80s and palm trees everywhere---palm trees, with you, a Pacific Northwesterner, and me, a frigid Chicagoan---and I saw this 'vision', with flowers softly emerging through the dark, and it was like 'Christmas lights' all of a sudden, or, really, Celebration lights for a life now vacated as well as for the beacon you were to me and which I hope I can be as well. I felt numb to 'beacons' that week (I'd fallen on my head, remember, lol), and I really needed some light. So it was a beautiful image, Tara, flowers that looked like blown & delicately decorated glass, and like lights lighting up the night. Thank you for all the support you gave me through that difficult time, and know that the image is beautiful & that it meant the world to me the very first time I saw it. And I didn't realize until now that the red "splotches" on the flowers felt like blood to me---I don't mean that in a 'gory' way, but like life blooming through them. Knowing your eye, I think you felt that at some level, even if intuitively. Thank you so much, it was a beautiful gift, Tara, and I appreciated it immensely.
