Description

My apologies for stealing the title from Shakespeare, but it seemed fitting. This is a little early for the occasion, but wanted to post it anyway. On April 7, my hubby and I will celebrate being together 25 years. Not our official anniversary, but one we feel more important.. this marks the day we fell in love. We have been through many adversities, but through it all our love has held strong. I dedicate this to my partner, friend, love and devoted companion.. Keith. I would also like to thank those of you who have been sending me notes of encouragement.. it really does help get me going sometimes. Now, if only the snow would go away and stay away.. enough of winter already! Tech stuff: I don't think I left anything alone in this. All textures were modified or replaced. Some just a little, like skins, others radically, including creating displacement and/or bump maps. Some I just designed my own or used shaders. I know much of it is just barely visible, but the perfectionist side of me wants them done right. Lighting proved to be a huge stumbling block. The Prince Albane skin is a beautiful and fine texture, but the wrong light can wreak havoc on it. Tended to make him look ill or hide the wonderful delicate details. I tried various lighting packages, such as lantios, but ended up scrapping those due to technical issues.. am still not totally happy with the results, but had enough of rerendering.. been working on the lights for over a week. Edit: I uploaded a reduced size image as the full size was getting too full of artifacts from the optimization. Credits: M4 M4 Prince Albane V4 V4 Tenanye Elven Prince Hair Elleth Hair (modified texture) MFD Elven Splendor for MFD (with modified texture) Xurge Barbarian (with highly modified textures) High Fantasy - Naiar Ring (My own texture) HR Donna - Diamond Ring (AF shaders) M4 Celtic Jewels (AF Shaders) 4blueeyes ElfAge circlet and earrings (AF Shaders) Free Stuff by Nakatoni - butterflies

Oh, I am so sorry I missed this earlier. I love the way you have embraced your characters, the way she looks up at him in true love and the way he looks like he cannot quite believe his good fortune to have her. You did an utterly fantastic job on the posing of this image. I love the magical feel that you have created with the soft blue lighting and all the postwork, which is huge but appears not to be to the untrained eye. The way they transition from the water is exceptional. And finally I see all the detailing you have done on texturing... just look at her dress.. utterly unique. All the effort you put into texturing paid off. Crafted with love...forged with skill.

while I agree with all the comments, I especially embrace Rita's (three_grrr's), and agree with everything she rapturously said. I hope that this year's anniversary was as sweet for you two as it was for you last year, and your image speaks of that as well as of love & connection throughout time. In addition to the pose being real (ala Rita's comment), you also posed them for 'us'---in the way they are holding each other but posing for us so we can see them. (That's something theater directors are very big on, as they want the actors to be seen at all times.) We are 'in' on their intimate moment. But lord, what you did with their gowns: the undulations, the varying light, the almost pearl-like quality of the woman's gown, and the beautiful patterns. (I read your comments on light & its difficulties; and not knowing 3D, I can't even imagine what that entails. But to my 2D eyes, the light here is beautiful.) Then, the lovers flow beautifully into the greenery below them, and your background is truly out of Shakespeare's comedy as well as out of myth and most of all, love. (Even the sky above them & that faded butterfly speak of dreams & love.) It's a beautiful tribute to you & your husband as well as to love, period. This day (ie, the day you posted this) was 6 days after my father had passed, and I saw this about a month later, as I started to look at all I'd missed. I didn't show-up on RR for many weeks after that, but I do remember thinking that, while I was wrapped up in myself, some people were putting up a great deal of beauty & love for the world to see...and doing it while they, themselves, may be struggling. It's a gift, and I remain grateful for it now. Beautiful work, and filled with love.
