Hello all. Spring has finally arrived.. YAY! This image is inspired by J.R.R Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. My favourite place in all of Middle earth is the elven realm of Lothlorien with it's glorious golden leaves. Been working on this for a few weeks, so I apologize if I forgot any credits. Can't always remember everything. This is really something special. I love how her strong green outfit contrasts so beautifully with the autumnal colors of the background. And her silver hair looks so elvin on a young looking character... who is probably centuries old. I like her unique bow grip with the pointed finger. So nice when you post as I know it costs you dearly to do so.

When I saw the notice that you had posted an image, I think my heart skipped a beat, lol. Wonderful to see a new piece of art from you, Sandy! This is breathtakingly beautiful. Who doesn't secretly (or not so secretly) long for Lothlorien? I love Elves, and yours is so much more beautiful than mine. I do relate to that pose, and it is a wonderful one that any experienced archer would instantly recognize. Bravo on this. Brilliant work!

Thank you all for the nice comments and faves.. Wow, so far 6/6! RJS, I am glad that I got it right. I spent some time researching how to properly hold and draw a bow. I was still not 100% sure I got it right.. thanks :) I had a general idea about stance as I tend to play archers in the various MMOs that have captured my attention, but was never sure of the details. Was not easy finding accurate information. I have often used premade poses, but never found them to be quite "on". This one did start with a premade, but I did a lot of tweaking. I am still not totally happy with the "flight", but got tired of messing with it.

Wonderful image with a beautiful, painterly feel and not a trace of Poser feel to it. Her stance is very natural with a full body, not unrealistic thin. Face expression is relaxed but no nonsense determined. The bow is very large, which makes it a longbow that can have a draw weight up to 900 pound! A formidable foe!
