Description
I am not really sure where to begin my story. Only recently have the various levels of governments declassified all the information involved in the program across a number of worlds. For so many years; decades now, I have had to live with the secrets, the lies and the double speak. It feels like an incredible burden has been lifted from my shoulders and I can really begin to live again. Many of my friends and colleagues have been encouraging me for years to write my memoirs, even if they could never be published. As if the ghosts I carry would finally be laid to rest if their stories were told. If only it were that simple….
Most stories start at the beginning and one would think that mine would be no different. But, in reality, my story really does not have a beginning. Nor does it have a middle and if I look back throughout my life I don’t think it will ever have an ending either – at least not an ending in the traditional sense of the word. Let’s just say that these stores are about origins.
Well, I guess the best way to start would be to tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Richard Stryker. I was born on an Earth about 120 years ago in the year 1969 in a small town in what was once known as the country of Canada. I say I was born on an Earth, rather than this Earth, because, you see, I am not actually from your Universe. Your Universe belongs to a much larger canvas known affectionately (insert sarcasm) as the multiverse. In my youth, I had the pleasurable and some would say cursed, experience to travel between a myriad of universes. In truth, I am not really sure which one I originally belonged to, as there have been so many. Suffice it to say after a number of exciting and somewhat harrowing adventures I landed in this Universe.
The stories I am about to reveal (I know I am slow getting there but please allow an old man his moments to deliberate) begin several months after my arrival (with a number of friends and family in tow) in your Universe.
