You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia,  if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess  I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !**                                              that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

They are definitely True bugs, that is they have sucking mouth parts. you could do a search on Shield bugs maybe. They are wonderful and I love your bonkers narrative, brigitte!

Beautiful critters but they are not beetles but appears to bee shield bugs of a kind, belonging to an insect family know as "true bugs" or Hemiptera, releted to bed bugs and pahids! The likelines to beetles is superficial, the wings are different and they all posses a trunk. Look the link below! Fine captures, Birgit! :o) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heteroptera

More like the LSD screen on your camera judging by the colors here. Outstanding capture of these tresspassers. Yeah, yeah, yeah indeed. If they were really beetles you would have seen groupies.

I love your humour and these little beetles look very unusual to me too but then you have a lot of interesting little critters in Aus. Did you touch to see if they bit!!!! Very cool captures.

Composition to the top image is good, strong diagonal lines. The bottom image is slightly over exposed but the bubbles look good. The little things what ever they are, are amazing love the markings and the colors suit the pool colors. Well done Brigitte, now that wasn't so painful was it. Geoff. If your camera has a histogram learn how to use it for your exposures, it'll give you perfect exposures. Talk to you soon.

Just when I thought it was safe to go back into the pool...YIKES ! Funny, I didn't remember seeing the Yellow Submarine, but I seem to remember hearing Mop-Top songs floating in the airwaves ! Freaky critters, great captures ! Well done & ~Cheers~

Well we know they are not blue meanies. almost looks like they are trying to look like a lily pad. Now that they have been published will they be more famous than the guy upstairs's son??????? excellent captures Brigitte
