Description


The B-52H has a wing area of 4000 square feet, and, as it can be seen, some serious flaps. The dual main gear in the front and rear of the aircraft's fuselage can be turned in either direction up to 22 degrees. This facilitates landings/take offs during cross-wind. For taxiing, only the front gear is used. During take off the wing lifts as the aircraft approaches flying speed and the wing wheels become airborne. The cockpit is surprisingly crowded, with 8 throttles and gage sets, plus monitoring of the ECM, TV and other electronic countermeasures.
