Description

Twin sisters came here one day Tortured souls replete with scars Doomed ever a night to stay Devoid even the light of stars One walking dead, and- yet Walking steady stride Another outside alive, and- yet Completely dead inside With lives torn apart Taken from one another No memories pleased their heart Save of tortured mother Very young girls, yes With eyes too wise, knowing Mistrusting men's excess As sand chafes inside clothing Yet one was spirited away Brought to a healing land Found God in a wondrous way And felt His soothing hand And she prayed for the other In misery so very far away Enslaved as was their dead mother Constantly abused as carnal prey One day in that far bailey Lead rained down from the sky And this child lost her baby But was set free in the bye Reunited finally for a spell Til the first went to heaven And mourning her private hell In pain that would not deaden But God worked on her as well And she discovered she was loved None saw the stain she felt Heavenly hope restored from above The child sought God's strength And conquered bitter grief: Resolved to bring down at length Him who stole lives like a thief Bitter story told in men's court With rare bravery oh so bold Resurrecting memories of a sort To make civilized blood run cold And now the deed is done To save her life she must flee Not knowing if indeed only one Tiny girl can set others free Now they both must fade from sight And this old man is so very sad But they fought the very good fight And finally have peace... For which I am very glad

When I saw her last two images I knew what had happened but still hoped it had not. Your beautiful image and poem confirmed it. I hope that she is able to live a full and happy life and that it brings the peace you talk about in your poem. A lovely tribute to two brave and wonderful young women.

This brings tears to my eyes! Beautifully written and rendered. I do hope the absence is not a forever thing. So I will just say to these two lovely young women.. till we meet again. You will be missed, you're loved and thought of often. Be at peace now, hopefully your battle is won.

A powerful and moving poem/image, this brought tears to my eyes and an ache in my heart. A terrible and sad struggle indeed. If only it were an isolated case... Thanks for sharing this, Larry.

Touching words. Those who caused so much pain should be put down, not put in prison. "'Tis no mercy to kennel rabid dogs!"
