Description

Like most post-apocalyptic survivors, Tanye was short on food. So when she saw the abandoned farm just off the road she decided to investigate. As she pushed the creaky door open, the hair stood on the back of her neck. In a practiced motion, she drew her weapon and racked the slide. Perhaps she wasn't the only hungry one in here...
The room and props are from the wonderful "Abandoned Farm" set from Mapps. This is one of the many set / room options available - I tweaked the shaders very slightly to work better in Carrara 7, otherwise this is pretty much as installed. No postwork on the image except to add the logo. Yes, I've been gone for a long while. You can read the gory details in the update on my homepage if you're interested. I'll be posting on an infrequent basis until things are completely sorted, but I *AM* back again LOL! Hope things have been going well for all of you - I've missed my Rendo friends!

Hmmm, I hadn't really considered this as a story-starter, but MAYBE after I complete Aranée! (Yes, it IS a story with an ending... LOL!)

Glad to see another image from you, Larry. Been missing my Aranée "fix" of late. This wonderful piece shows that your skills haven't rusted during your absence. A very nicely composed scene with some excellent textures and superb lighting. Those spiders give me the heebie geebies, though. Hope to see more of your work soon.

I'm glad you're back. I hope you continue to improve and soon have things completely sorted. I'm really looking forward to more of the Aranée story! Excellent image! Great detail and textures. I love the spiders and their shadows. I wouldn't be standing as close as she is to them, especially the one right by her foot. It sounds like she has larger issues than spiders though. The farmhouse has a wonderful look of neglect. There is a lot of time and grime on that window.

Cock n lock that flyswatter... or a really big slipper! That's the way to deal with bugs. Personally, I'd have aleeady had my weapon ready to fire before (not after) I opened the door. Maybe I can teach her...

I really like the texture work on this one, and the added arachnids really promote a sense of drama to this fine scene. Nice!
