Welcome to my Renderosity page!
Since 1980, as a writer, artist, and editor, I've worked on some of the best known and most influential properties in the world, including: Dungeons & Dragons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, The Simpsons, Middle Earth, Fantastic 4, Speed Racer, Thunderbirds, Dragonlance, Legend of the Five Rings, Iron Man, Darkwing Duck, Mage Knight, and many others. I've written (and published) more than 30 books and numerous short stories. I've won the Origins Award, gaming's highest honor, for my fantasy fiction twice: first for "The Lion" (the final book in the original L5R series), and then for my Mage Knight short story, "Podo & The Magic Shield." I created, wrote, and colored The Twilight Empire(tm) comic strip, which ran in Dragon magazine for more than 4 years. I can't even count (or remember) the number of comics and game projects I've worked on. All that is nice, but what really matters to me is that my readers enjoy my stories and art. I hope that you will give my work a try, and if you enjoy it -- and I feel confident you will -- please mention me to your friends. If you have questions or suggestions, you can contact me by writing to fanmail@stephendsullivan.com.
Enjoy the pictures!

the one with the dragon and the boat I think is good
Ometeotl
The one on the ride side - the other looks a bit "incomplete"

Hmmmmm ... Both sides are good. I would be for a combination: no boat but the dragon - and the a little bit bigger? My opinion. I think the boat is unreal - somehow does not fit into the picture. Anyway - both sides are impressive works!

Without the boat, the dragon lost all sense of scale -- might have been a fairy dragon hovering over his shoulder. Dropping in mist to try aerial perspective to "scale" the dragon ruined the colors of the sky. That's what I thought when I did it, anyway.

The one with the dragon and the boat. It gives depth and perspective to the work. They also foreshadow a journey with elements of magic.

Personally the one on the left as it's simpler and less cluttered and your right about the scale issues, hence remove them!

Hmm... when it's cropped down like that and the titles have been added then the one on the right with the boat and the dragon looks the better of the two. However, there's something "off" about the boat. I think it may be that it is supposed to be off in the distance but it looks sharp and in focus. I would suggest that you maybe try playing with the Depth Of Field option on your render settings and see how it looks. Just my opinion though :)

Depth of field, Zander... Good thought! Didn't think of that. That's a setting I hadn't played with in Poser 'til this morning -- mostly because of your suggestion. I'm always teetering on the edge of what I know how to use in this program, pushing to get the kind of renders I want, yet, at the same time, working within time deadlines for products, etc. If I do "Gift" in a print version, I may re-render with the DOF setting -- now that I'm playing with it on another render. (Heck, I may re-do it just because I'm a bit obsessive that way -- though the original render is already up.) When I get D0F down better, I need to become more comfortable with magnets. And probably, at some point, I should switch over from 7 to my new copy of Poser Pro, too. So much to learn! Thanks.
