Description

My boat compagny that starts it's third season was named after King Willem I of Orange, King of the Netherlands after Napoleon went. King Willem I gave The Hage a Canal towards the Sea. It goes right through the old dunes. This morning i was standing on one of the old dune top overlooking the canal. On the other side is a park. In the 1920's there were plans to have the 1924 Olympics there (!).. These Olympics were given to Amsterdam (1928). So there was no Olympic Park, but a green park with many flowers and statues. Still a great place to be.. Next friday I am back there.. with the boats Time flies.. and I don't mind.

A beautiful capture of this lovely park and it looks so much more beautiful without all the stadiums etc. that would have spoiled it.

Stay tuned for next week when Boatboy returns to the scene of the crime... da da da da da - boat - boy!!!! Olympic didn't make it there - bummer... in 1976 the Olympics wanted to come to Colorado and our politicians said NO.... I was only 12, or 13, so I don't remember why our great state said no. since they devided the winter and olympic games, I can see the Winter coming here. ...later boatboy - lol

I suspect your city was better off for not having the Olympics. A lot of the winners of such honor later regret having purchased the privilege. Beautiful park.
