Description
Hello, and thanks for dropping by.
The apocryphal thesis here is that an archeological expedition has been searching for a lost ancient city, for several years. They learned of the city from inscriptions on amphora jars recovered from a sunken Phoenician ship whose cargo was destined for the city centuries ago. Gradually, from stories of reticent elder tribesmen living in the Amazon rain forests, they have been following legends of the city that have been handed down by word of mouth over generations.
The funding from their benefactors having long since dwindled away, and on the brink of exhaustion and failure, they suddenly catch a glimpse of their goal through a break in the jungle undergrowth. I have tried to capture that moment here. Think Indiana Jones without the intrigue.

Awesome image Stan. Your text fits it perfectly. Just last night the national geographic channel on television had a show on about a group of folks searching for the lost city of Atlantis. In many ways the trials and tribulations these groups faced seems simular to what you described
