I am an environmental scientist. A large part of my career has been dedicated to scientific research into the structure of ecosystems and factors that affect them. Quite early on, it became apparent that certain mathematical iterative principles formed geometries that coincided exactly with those found in natural ecosystems. And by ecosystems, I do not mean just plants and animals. The same principles also apply to quantum physics, geology, meteorology and on up to the formation of galaxies. These relationships were championed most publicly by the brilliant mathematician Benoît Mandelbrot, the founder of fractal geometry.
To my mind, the structure of natural ecosystems through application of these iterative processes revealed not only the genius and subtlety of nature but also its incomparable beauty. Â

Magnificent work Stan! I have to admit I am not versed in the music of Wagner, I went to the link you posted. While i love your image, I have to admit I don't have the required gene to enjoy classical music. Your fractal has a feeling of resembling beaded glass work. The central part of the image looks like a bull or ram's head. Your color and lighting in this presentation are ideal and very well done.

Wow, if this is the beginning what must it be like at the end. A wonderful fractal with superb lighting and textures. It is wonderful that music inspires you so.

When I see these wonderful fractal, it looks like he's coming over me with his sprawling symphonic sounds. A beautiful building, both the image and the beautiful music. I see in the fractal something of a church organ. The colors are admirable precision, dear Stan! p.s. This Tannhauser-composition seems a bit like Mendelssohn's music to me.

Very impressive!! Looks like a ram's head in the centre. I see the different tones changing as does opera music in their scales. Opera is not one of my favorite music styles. However I appreciate those who enjoy it so well. Fantastic job Stan.
