Description

Bryce7Pro/Photoshop My winning entry in the latest Bryce Challenge...a surprising win considering the images submitted! All items created in Bryce7Pro.The rock and plane textures are my own tweaking in the DTE.The water is a Seriously Real water material from Daz.All the plants were created in the Tree Lab,with customized mats added. The alien bird is a Bryce6 model, created from lattices and linked for posing. The rock structures are also lattices, combined with terrains.Terrains rendered in a modified foliage preset create additional groundcover.A large terrain forms the main foreground, with a river carved out of it and a water plane set just below it.Distant planet is a sphere, with a customized Seriously Real rock material from Daz.Sky,light and atmo are all custom, with sky used as IBL with sun enabled.Postwork involved a slight level boost, signature and re-sizing.Thanks to all who voted for this image, and for taking the time to view and comment!

Awesome outstanding work and description. Bryce any version is the most misunderstood and unsung app except for those who really are gifted with the application.

I think its the balance. We all know of "thirds" but, most of the time good artists know how to place things so the viewer wants to be there and take it all in and actually see themselfs in the image and want to be a part of something cool....you accomplish that without over filling the image with too many things. That is why you succeed and win contests. Keep on! Well deserved...excellent image!

Catching up - sorry I'm so late congratulating you on an excellent image and a deserved win. Plenty of detail, but also plenty of "space" for the eye to wander. Very, very cool.
