Description
Duties in life are at times interesting, fun, a need to be done, for a variety of reasons, all legitimate and sound, for the most part. Then there are the duties that we cures & rail at, those duties that one knows that no matter what frame of mind you you have, or desire the duty clouds it in such a manner that it become distasteful all round and then falls in the " why me " category.
Perhaps this was the case of this poor chap here assigned to repaint the numbers on the rudder and stern, perhaps it was a punishment for some by a officer for some missed shipboard protocol, maybe he was later for his shift and had been given warnings that maybe went unheeded, or maybe the guy got the short straw on the " dirty duty " roster and had to spend a bright and sunny Oct afternoon painting %$#&*&$@ numbers on the &^%$#^* rudder while his mates were maybe up town tipping a few back, chatting up the pretty waitresses while he was here stuck in a skiff painting $#*^%@ stupid numbers on a rudder......thanks for the peek.
