Description
This is a small 12th century chapel near the village of Pano Akourdaleia, near Paphos, Cyprus. The front doors are fastened with a shoe-lace tied through the handles. The inside is in amazing condition and a small table has money thrown on it from visitors. These places still do exist. (Ayia means Saint in English)

Isn't this amazing. To think at the time this was built, a sword's crushing blow extinguished the life of Thomas Becket, Archbishop of Canterbury, on a cold December evening as he struggled on the steps of his altar. Richard The Lionheart would soon be busy massacring The Saracens......and Pharaoh Ramses V died from a scorching case of smallpox!
