Description


The Northern Shoveler, sometimes known simply as the Shoveler, is common in northern areas of Europe and Asia and across most of North America. In North America, it breeds along the southern edge of Hudson Bay and as far south as the Great Lakes. It is recognized by its spatulate bill. They are 19 inches (48 cm) long and have a wingspan of 30 inches (76 cm) and weight about 1.3 pounds (600 g). Info from Wikipedia. Just love those ducks, reminded me one time when I started feeding one, all of them wanted it. They got out the pond and almost chased me. Oh boy, I learned a lesson that day LOL. Thanks for sharing, Dana!
