Description

Watercolour on paper. This was painted in the Botanical Gardens just to the west of Bristol. It took two mornings due to the movement of the sun suddenly placing the walls into shadow. This was my first serious outdoor painting. The red roof and arched windows of the parish church can be seen just beyond the far wall. The location was quiet and I was thus able to work without distraction (apart from the antics of the sun, of course). The profusion of vegetation within the pool remdinds that it was mid-summer. Cliff.

Wonderfully detailed painting, and very sensitively executed. I like it very much.

Cliff, step away from the computer and bring out your paint and paper. Your watercolor is simply wonderful!!! How could you not have shared this with us long ago? Shame on you for hiding this. This watercolor has everything...beautiful coloring, dreamy style...I'm totally lost for compliments. I'd like an enlarged print of this for my wall!!!!
