Description
Top: "Looky over there Alice, there's a human watching us. Should I give 'im a show?" "Sure thing Bob, go for it!"
Middle: I get treated to some aerial antics. Getting good photos of such a small bird on the wing is hard. Very hard. The camera I used is a nice DSLR (D5000), not like my other point-and-shoot camera. Despite a decent focus speed, getting a focus lock is another story. These were the "good" shots amongst countless blur-o-vision attempts. Maybe there's a trick to it I've still to learn.
Bottom: Of course this feisty little booger mocked me up close. He even gave some nice wing spreads sunning himself, but by the time I get the camera aimed - all I got was this shot. And this stare.
Maybe another day. But the results here weren't too bad for a nice morning hike along the Des Plaines River trail.

Those little guys are, indeed, difficult to capture! They are sooo fast and change direction so quickly!! Good shooting!
