Description

This is the first (and I assume not the last) of a series depicting each of the sub-races of the elves from my story (that I've been working on for something like three years not - gah!). Each image will have a male and female representative of the chosen sub-race, though they won't necessarily be any specific characters from the story. These two are of the sub-race I refer to as "First Born". As you might expect they were the first group of elves to set foot on the new born world. They're the result of Mother Magic combining with the fiery, chaotic newborn planet that they inhabit. Physically, they are by far the largest of the elves, some as tall as eight feet, and nearly all of them quite muscular and strong. The females are close in size and strength to the males. They're generally pale or ruddy, with blond or red hair. They also have a strong resistance to heat and fire, actually able to fall into lava without sustaining burns (for short periods). They make up the bulk of the heavy hitters in the elven army, and are formidable indeed, not just due to their size and strength, but for their affinity for channeling earth and fire magic. Socially they tend to be very militaristic, and in the past the strongest of them was Supreme Warlord and leader of all of the elves. Over time the elves have formed a council with two representatives of each sub-race, however it is traditional for one of the First Born on the council to be able to trace his or her lineage back to the very first of their kind. That individual has the power of breaking ties in any votes that occur during council gatherings.

Wow I am impressed! Not only with the artwork, but with your great graphical text detail. I always love a well-written story to accompany a work of art and this one was a visual and verbal feast for the imagination. I hope you post more of your characters and their biographies.

I adore your elves, and these are magnificient! They remind me a bit of LoTR and Galadriel and Haldir. So beautiful, the hair is amazing, costuming wonderful! Just all around tops!
