Description
Canola field in East Tennessee, not too far from where I live. It was amazing standing in the middle of this field last night watching the sunset, and minutes later seeing the largest moon I've seen in years start to rise. Thank you Tom for sending me the information and directions to this beautiful place.
Thank you all for all the wonderful comments and on the photo below, and your support.

Excellent collage of this wonderful site Lynell. Canola is a very sought after oil seed as it is a healthy alternative to regular vegetable oils by being lower in fat. Our area is surrounded by canola fields. not presently as they are still covered by snow, but once planted the canola output here is huge. It was about 25 years ago this was called rape seed, but due to negative connotations connected to that name it was changed to canola. Many of the old timers still refer to it as rape seed, but they are being phased out quickly.

Lynell, I am glad you got to set you timing and got some close shots of the plants, too. I found the tractor paths added perspective and a very pleasing green contrast to the yellow blossoms. We won't get to go back that way soon enough this spring but next year for sure. The collage is a fine way to show this beauty. Great work. Tom

OMG, so that's where my Canola oil comes from! I use it all the time for microwaving and salads. But I digress. Cool photos most elegantly displayed and positioned in this superb collage, Lynell.

I just love this, it reminds me of a certain highway, where, for a short time in late spring the median is filled with this very same plant for several miles.
