Description

And so, what better thing to do with a massive tree stump than to build a table. Notice the seats, the stools next to the table. Some have four legs and are split logs, while others are barrel shaped devices. Contrary to popular belief, China does indeed have wood. In the southern regions it is not pine as we might expect, but rather hardwood. Like hickory, the wood here is too hard for use for anything more than furniture or smoking meats with. I hope you enjoy viewing these images as much as I did taking them and doing the post work.

these tables could last a 1000 years,but then the eastern cultures are maybe not so narrowminded as we are,and they think in different time /dimensions.

Man that wood is so beautiful! It's a shame that such a huge and beautiful tree had to be cut down, but it's sure made a gorgeous table. Nice shot to capture that lovely rich grain.
