Description

What have we become? He taught us to love and forgive Yet we become known for judgement, Invoking the right to hate in the name of love What have we become? What have we done? He provided a home for us Yet we ripped it apart, rejected His love, but keep Invoking His name in greed, because we are unsatisfied What have we done? Where are we going? He showed us the way, gave us a map Yet we refuse to follow into those places that take real effort to reach, Invoking our freedom to choose, because we cannot be bothered to try. Where are we going? Who do we love? He gave us His own, asking only that we return it Yet so often we spurn Him in spite of it, and cast Him aside - To seek in another that which we were unprepared to accept or return in the first place. Who do we love? What do we value? He gave us freedom, then bought it for us again. Yet rather than living free, and loving, to honor Him, We trade a debt to sin we could never pay, for debts to each other we STILL run too high What do we value? What are we worth? He loves us more than anything else in Creation Yet we find it so hard to accept His gift wholeheartedly. We fight to see the beauty in ourselves, or to allow for faith or trust in the gift of love. What are we worth?

A poem I wrote, thinking of my christian friends, and how well we REALLY do at living out our faith. Not that I'm any better, and I don't claim to be. This was just.... thoughts in my head that needed out. I may compile my poems into a book down the road, if there would be interest, and if I can find a service somewhere that will publish them for me. Right now I wouldn't even know how to start going about that, though, or what the process is. Thank you for any interest, or words you might care to leave. I appreciate all your feedback. Have a fantastic day! hugs to everyone! - Matt

Friend: You should begin by acquiring copyright. Then a publisher to publish it on paper or uploading to a website. I am in the process of uploading a web site of art and literature. I follow you! The poem is beautiful and very deep!

A provocative piece, something that makes us think... we have the choice to do good, however too, and so I think I chose that ;)
