Description

This is a the stern of the SS Great Britain the first iron clad passenger and cargo ship ever built. It carried just over 600 passengers and was launched in the early 1800's. It carried several tons of cargo and of course many tons of coal to feed the boilers. The brilliant engineer who built it was Isambard Kingdom Brunel who can be found in your search engine for lots more information.

That is some very beautiful and ornate looking vessel, unbelievable, that in those olden days it actually carried so many passengers ? I would always prefer ship journeys to plane travelling ... thanks for sharing this and I do hope, that you are enjoying your Easter Holiday break, Jeff BB

Beautiful ship and capture! I like all the triangles made by the flag covered lines and the rectangles of the windows. Lovely shot.
