I'm a painter, turned illustrator, turned designer from Seattle that now makes a living as a senior creative director in middle of the desert in Phoenix, Arizona. Life is strange to say the least. A few years ago I returned to painting, through traded my Winsor brushes and Golden Acrylics for Poser, Vue, and Photoshop, and have since resumed doing commercial illustration for a select clientele. I mainly work in 3D, but almost everything I do is overpainted until my wrist hurts as I just can't roll with squeaky clean stuff - it's not in my nature.
Recently my work has appeared in Ballistic Publishing's EXPOSÉ, was added to Steve Wozniak's personal art collection, been featured at MacWorld San Francisco and can soon be seen on limited edition tee's at Barney's New York and Fred Segal Los Angeles.
I'm married with three cats and can't seem to have less than ten Mac's in the house at any given time... you never know, I may need that bondi blue iMac for something one day ;)

Love the feel and sky. This has the hero or "pinnacle" scifi effect as my brother likes to call it.

Outstanding work. Everything fits together - the sea, the sky, the materials and the lighting. Definitely worth the 80 hour wait.

Did you make this model, or is it available online somewhere? If you liked star blazers you may like this story written by a friend. http://thelittleflowerchronicles.blogspot.com/

I don't often use the word, but this image is "awesome" - and so is the rendering time! You may just have reached the limits of what Vue can do. Brilliant work, it has the look of a still from a big-screen movie.

Very nicely done. BTW, the Japanese version "Space Battleship Yamato" did a better job of storytelling than the English "Star Blazers." All the episodes are available with English subtitles if you search on You Tube.

Amazing image the battleship Yamato never lokked so good. They made a movie based on the real Japanese Battleship Yamato which is actually quite good. It was the worlds largest Battleship and flagship of the Japanese fleet during WW2. Sunk by US divebombers and submarines during the battle of okinawa 290 kilometres (180 mi) southeast of Kyushu it lies under 340 metres (1,120 ft) of water in two main pieces; a bow section comprising the front two thirds of the ship, and a separate stern section.
