For Brigitte you have always shown an appreciation for these old barns just like I do, so this one is straight from the camera, no retouching, I even left the power lines in. I hope you like it. I saw this in Virginia when I was driving to Mabry Mill on Blue Ridge Parkway, which is a 469 mile scenic road that starts in the Smoky Mountain National Park and weaves through the state of North Carolina and on to the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. I have never driven the entire highway, but my goal is to do that soon, what I did see of it was very stunning.

Thank you all for your comments on the portrait of my daughter, she had a great time in New York, her favorite part was seeing the Broadway play the Wicked. And she described being on the stage at Carnegie Hall like this she said they were all lead to a huge back rehearsal hall behind the stage, they had not seen the inside of the building completely yet, and they were given instructions, told some of the history of the building and others who had played on the stage, such as the Beatles, and then they had a half hour to warm up and practice, and then a director came in and said OK Maryville High School are you ready to enter the stage, and she said it was so intense. And they were lead through a hallway to the stage, and she said as she entered the stage she started to cry because it was all so overwhelming and as they started to play their first song, she noticed that her orchestra teacher and director was also crying she said it was amazing. And as a mom, even though I couldn't be there that night as I realized wow she's about to go on stage I was crying too. But then I also cried when she sent me her first photo of the Statue of Liberty and I thought wow she is so lucky to have this opportunity. With that said I would encourage you all to support the arts in your schools and communities with out that type of support these children would not have had this trip and experience of a lifetime they will never forget.

A beautiful and stunning example of bucolic, pastoral and rustic imagery in this nonpostworked photo, Lynell! Love the colors and textures. And, I hope your daughter sang, Don't Cry For Me, Argentina, in her debut on stage.

A beautiful capture of this lovely old barn. Your daughter sounds to have had a wonderful experience at the Carnegie Hall and it will stay with her for always. I hope she enjoys the rest of her trip too. What a shame you couldn't get to see her perform.

What a kool dedication for BB (my Mum), this barn has seen better days, but I really dig the colours of the rusty roof in contrast to the lush green grass...of home...LOL ! Well done & ~Cheers~
