You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia, if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !** that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

Great photo manip, Brigitte! I'm also very fond of Wagner - and love classic as well as rock music (not simultaneously! ;o))

Dear Brigitte, I'm very touched that you want to share this with us, (and me) and tell us about it. Something that impressed you, and is such a good reminder for you remained. I find this a great honor. I know Germany still has the "Festspiele" about Wagner, and his opera performed annually in Bayreuth. Your photo manipulation refers to agreement, called the "Götterdämmerung". You're a great friend Even though I prefer another German composer, namely J.S. Bach and his cantata's. I've admiration for this image. Anyway, even if you had not mentioned me. And I'm a big music fan! Music can reach my heart very deeply. A bow for you!!

Outstanding postwork. It does look ominous. May I recommend to you my own interpretation of The Ride of the Valkyrie? http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1979438&user_id=4105&page=11&member&np

Splendid image ! Great postwork ! Great music ! I live in the area where Giacomo Puccini lived and I am a big fan of the Master who also had a villa on the hill in front of my house (Chiatri Puccini). I like all the great music!

Not into opera personally, But I have read the Nibellungenlied saga thingy...most cool stuff, he dies, she dies, everyone dies...the end. THAT is a saga.

I am a recent explorer into the world of opera, though I have loved operettas as long as I can remember. I was just listening to Verdi: 'Il Trovatore' on Met Opera Radio. I don't know the composers well enough to have favorites yet, though I quite like what I have heard of Mozart's 'Don Giovanni'. I've barely gotten my feet wet. :) The emotional resonance of opera is amazing. It is very well expressed by Roger Pines in the foreword of 'Opera for Dummies' (a book written by two very funny guys) “…when push comes to shove, an operatic experience is an experience in beauty, and beauty is what we have too little of in this world. When you hear a soprano float a high C, or a tenor singing a love song, or a full-throated chorus in the climax of a scene’s dramatic finale, I guarantee that you’ll get goosebumps you’ve never felt before. We’re talking about the singing voice, the most human of all instruments--and the voice communicates emotion in a way that nothing else can match.” Beautiful image and dedication to dear Jacomina! I love the layers and dramatic atmosphere. They are like the layers of voices and orchestra that merge into a deeply emotional and dramatic experience. I love the deep purples, dark contrasts, and fiery sunset. Excellent postwork and beautifully expressive image!
