Description

We were in the redwoods yesterday. SO beautiful! You just can't imagine the scale. The largest redwoods are the tallest living things on Earth. These beauties are by no means the largest trees we saw. I'm sure we won't be able to resist showing you several redwood images!

Cathedral like indeed. Quite awe-inspiring. Without a figure it just wouldn't be the same.

I bet both of you have taken some great images. It reminds me of Mariposa Grove in Yosemite. I can remember Marilyn saying how beautiful this area is.

Unbelievable composition! Your image is splendid and I would have to differ... the scale is in fact imaginable, due to the most perfect POV that you've captured for us! It blows me away, in fact..... How captivating and what a titillating experience it must have been to be in this place, so protected and seemingly safe.... a beautiful haven indeed! So very glad you shared ths with us!

Incredible sense of scale! You've heard the question about if a tree falls and no one is there to hear it, does it make any sound? When one of these falls it registers on seismographs on the other side of the planet! Fantastic photo, Tara!

They are truly magic; it's impossible to walk thru them without being truly awed. I'm so glad you did this; everyone should see them sometime in their lives.

“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.” ~ John Muir The great Scottish-American environmentalist John Muir once referred to a redwood forest as a cathedral. How well you have captured that feeling in this image.
