Gothic Steam is the title of an anthology I just started editing. I HAVE to do things that are different, so Gothic Steam is a blend of genres. It mixes steampunk and gothic romance/literature. I wanted the cover art to reflect that this was something different. I was toodling along doing a quite acceptable scene involving steam powered time travel in a castle basement. Decent, but nothing spectacular. Then this weird idea snuck up on me from behind and slapped me upside the head. I had to give it a shot because those ideas that just come out of nowhere are always the best ideas and the most fun to do. That resulted in Max the steam turtle, destroyer of worlds. With an attitude. Many days I got up at 5 in the morning to work on this. Which is, definitely, way way too early for me. But in the end, I think it was worth it. Original rendered at 2100 X 3000.
