Description

Two sources to credit for inspiration here. First, the Pure Prairie League, a country rock band, mostly from the 70's. On their first album cover, they used an old grizzled cowboy drawn by Norman Rockwell in 1927. He appeared on every album after that. My character was loosely based on him. Second, as I worked on this, I looked for a particular song by the Marshall Tucker Band that I was envisioning these critters humming and ended up listening to most of their great body of work. I love when they do the old western Swing style reminiscent of the 1930s. Made the guitar and log. Animals from Daz, Lynne's Creations and Dedicated Digital. Painted the mustache and hair and most of the face)

This is such a great and fun image! I'm listening to the song right now and it's so fitting, thank you! Edited to add: I looked up Pure Prarie League and it turns out I know them, used to hear them all the time growing up and I'm so glad to have re-discovered them through your art :)
